The Hellions will be headed to Long Island this coming weekend to take on 8 other teams from across the State at The FIRST EVER New York State all-female Flat Track Roller Derby Tournament. The Empire Skate Showdown will feature eight New York teams who will duel it out over 12 thirty minute challenge bouts. Check out the facebook page for even more information.
The Hellions are looking forward to this exciting weekend of hard hitting derby action! Thank you to the Long Island Roller Rebels for coordinating the event – see you in a week!

Roller derby team wants local action

Shauna Cross, a Los Angeles screenwriter, was searching craigslist.org for a tennis partner when she came across an ad for a women’s roller derby league.
“Instead of a tennis partner, I got a bunch of hilarious, loud-mouthed, bruising broads to skate with,” Cross said in a telephone interview last week.
