Bio: “As a young girl Jane spent many a fine day roller skating around the turrets of Northanger Abbey with her best friend Emma, enjoying the movement and freedom the wheels gave her.
On a fine day at a social gathering in Mansfield Park, as she took a turn about the floor she was surprised by the appearance of some roller derby players who showed up at the event unannounced. As they took to the arena they shocked the party that had gathered with their fierceness and determination. Being a woman of much Sense and Sensibility, Jane saw that order had to be restored to the gathering and summoning up her Pride while not allowing her Prejudice to cloud her judgment, she drew the whistle a certain gentleman had given her as token of his affection and began to bring order back to the gathering by channeling the soldier within her and that day becoming GI Jane Austen. After some Persuasion the recalcitrant players were organized into the very first public exhibition of roller derby and thus a sport was born.
