Eloda Sarcasm

It was a cool brisk evening, Toronto, September 1972, closing night of a popular theater performance.  William Shatner goes backstage to congratulate the actors on a night well presented, and the petite goofiness of Gilda Radner struck his fancy.  A sweet night of poutine, awesome beer (with a higher alcohol content!), great conversation and laughs…ended with Tim Horton’s coffee in the bed of a high end hotel room.  A single night of tender love bore a sassy bundle of joy. Gracing the world with all the genetic pedigree (think Captain James T. Kirk and Rosanna Rosannadanna) made for derby announcing.

Years were spent finding opportunities to grab a mic and showcase her sharp wit and humor. Thinking she had finally found her place at a local radio show…it all came together one night. Intending only to watch roller derby and ogle the HoT dames, Eloda was excited and willing to share a mic on short notice at an inaugural derby bout.  While the evening was a less than stellar performance, she was hooked and could not stay away.  Never before had her sass, humor, wit, and color commentary felt more at home than trackside with the Hellions of Troy… and never before, had her given name, Eloda Sarcasm, been so apropos.
