Mathundra Storm, #1108, front and back blocker, a born athlete and warrior, started roller derby in November 2008. Mathundra is a barbarian and creative shaman; she is empathic and thermodynamic. She is a scorpio sun, leo moon and capricorn rising with a bunch of planets in the 10th house. She is an elemental force born from the volcanic islands of Hawaii raised by photographers in the darkroom. With the body of an amazon she towers over most of her opponents at a solid 5’10″ without quads. She was the most outstanding female athlete, and received the most varsity letters of her female graduating high school class in Saratoga Springs, NY. Ms. Storm played college basketball at SUNY Plattsburgh and Rugby at Chester College in England. She believes in living your mythology, tuning into the earth, keeping an open mind, using your instincts, bridging spirituality and science, and channeling storm energy. Within the chaos, she is the eye of the storm. Without skates and gear she brings a primal roar and creative truth through her live performances and projects. Mathundra will throw a big bad thunder cloud on those that oppress others, she will come after you if you mess with her. She also enjoys a good earth shaking laugh and sashaying in lava fields. She eats rainbow lollipops, mango, papaya, hailstones, plumeria flowers, mist; talks to crystals, owls, cats, dolphins, whales, stones and trees. She works in photography, video, theater and film production. She plays the piano like lightening, rips it up on the guitar, blows you away with her voice, and chants you into ecstacy with her dynamic spoken word. Mathundra is a classically trained pianist and violinist turned self taught singer and guitarist. Mathundra Storm will rock you and blow you away in any arena.
