3rd Annual Charity Bout to Benefit Animals

We are excited to announce that we will be hosting our 3rd Annual Charity Bout on Saturday, September 21st at 7PM at Rollarama in Schenectady. This year, it’s all about our furry friends; all donations will support two great local charities: the Animal Protective Foundation and Peaceful Acres Horses.

This bout isn’t your typical roller derby bout – in fact, this is the only roller derby bout where the audience has the opportunity to control the action on track through donations.

Audience members can pay cold hard cash to:
+ send a player to the penalty box
+ buy your team points
+ choose a jammer
+ request a reverse direction jam
+ and more!

This year, Team Cat will be taking on Team Dog – and don’t forget the zebras (refs and officials)! Come join us for an evening of chaos benefiting local animal charities.

Hosted by the Hellions of Troy Roller Derby league, the capital district’s WFTDA flat track roller derby league, with guest skaters from Capital District Trauma Authority, Central New York Roller Derby, the Quadfathers and more.

FREE with a suggested donation of $5 and/or a shelter item from the following wish list:

Saturday, September 21st – doors at 7, first whistle at 8

Rollarama Skating Center in Rotterdam

Join us for an after party at Clinton’s Ditch at 112 S College St in Schenectady.

The Animal Protective Foundation is a donor-funded, full-service humane society providing services to Schenectady County and the greater Capital Region. Since 1931, the APF has held true to the mission of its founders. They have an “open admission” policy which ensures that animals are not turned away based on their breed, age, condition or circumstance. The mission of the Animal Protective Foundation of Schenectady is to address pet overpopulation and animal suffering through education and appropriate action, to enhance human/animal relationships, and to provide care to animals in need.

At Peaceful Acres Horses, rescued and retired horses guide human partners in healing emotionally, psychologically and physically. Peaceful Acres Horses’ mission is to provide a therapeutic environment for both horses and people to resolve issues related to grief, loss and trauma, and to regain strength and trust. Partnered together in equine assisted experiential learning and psychotherapy programs, the horses and people both learn skills and find a supportive environment that improves their quality of life.

All money donated will go to helping host this charity event and to help support these organizations!
